No more monkey business: PETA loses lawsuit over monkey selfie

Posted

A federal appeals court has decided to not give a monkey the rights to a selfie it took.

The selfie in question was taken by the monkey in 2011, after it got its hands on a photographer's camera.

PETA filed a lawsuit, claiming the primate owned the rights to the photo.

The court wasn't monkeying around, though.

It ruled U.S. copyright law doesn't include the rights of animals.
