Fire official: train derails in DC, no injuries reported

A fire official says has a train has derailed in a tunnel in downtown Washington but there are no reports of injuries.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Doug Buchanan says Monday that the Metro train derailed but that "we have no reported injuries at the moment."

Buchanan says the train derailed between the Farragut North and Metro Center stations. In a tweet, his department says there is no fire involved.
