The suspect in an "active shooter situation" near Zion National Park has been taken into custody.

Springdale Police Department responded to the situation Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses told the St. George News that the suspect shot at multiple vehicles as he was being pursued by officers on the road that leads to Zion National Park.

It's not clear if the suspect shot anyone or whether he was injured prior to being taken into custody.
