MONTGOMERY COUNTY — An undercover officer was caught on camera kneeing a man and forcing his head to the ground causing him to bleed. As the video has been seen hundreds of times since Wednesday, people on social media are calling this incident in Montgomery County excessive police force.

The arrest took place at a McDonald’s restaurant in Aspen Hill on July 3.

The undercover officer has now been identified as Officer Kevin Moris III of the 4th District Special Assignment Team. According to a statement released by the Montgomery County Department of Police, "Officer Moris’ police powers have been suspended, and he has been assigned to administrative duties pending the investigation."

The viral video shows officers on the floor of the dining room with Arnaldo Pesoa and later on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant. Officer Moris is seen driving his knee into Pesoa’s head and neck.

Pesoa was taken to the hospital for his injuries. He is charged with resisting arrest, assault and intent to distribute illegal narcotics.
