Army Reserve soldiers thwart robbery in N.J.

Posted

Two Army Reserve soldiers from Maryland thwarted an armed robbery at a New Jersey pharmacy last week, according to a release from Fort George G. Meade.

Sgt. Eric Blake of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, and Cpl. Aaron Dabney, of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., were at the pharmacy near Fort Dix when they noticed a suspicious male holding a large black knife in his left hand and a black plastic bag in his right hand.

Blake and Dabney called 911, but when the man exited the store, he began running toward the back alley.

The two ran after him, finally causing the man to drop his weapon and the bag and surrender. He was arrested shortly afterward.
