ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Funeral arrangements have been announced for former longtime Maryland Senate President Mike Miller.

He passed away January 15 less than a month after resigning from the State Senate, where he served 45 years. He was 78.

Proceedings will begin Thursday at 4 pm at Lee Funeral Home on Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton.

There, state troopers will escort Miller’s casket to different stops throughout his district.

Those stops include Miller’s law offices on Old Branch Avenue in Clinton and Penwick Lane in Dunkirk.

The Prince George’s Fire Department on Woodyard Road, Surrattsville High School on Garden Drive, Chesapeake Beach, and Herrington Harbor are among the other stops. The procession is also expected to pass Smithville United Methodist in Dunkrik.

The escort is scheduled to reach its final destination for the night at 6 pm outside the Maryland State House.

From there, troopers will carry Miller's casket inside for a private welcoming ceremony where the Maryland National Guard's Honor Guard will drape the Maryland flag over the casket.
