MIDDLE RIVER, Md. — A kitten stuck up in a tree, it’s something you see in a movie.
But this cat literally went out on a limb on Stephen Drive in Middle River.
A couple tree experts along with some neighborhood residents grabbed a harness and blanket and got to work rescuing the little one.
We spoke with Leah Biddinger, who is part of a local lost animal resource group.
She says the feral kitten was in the tree four days.
After calls to the fire department and BGE didn't work out, it was time for Tattersall Tree Experts to step in.
Even they couldn’t nab the cat on the first try, because it climbed so high that it went over-top the power lines.
So they came back Friday for take two.
That was a struggle also, which meant a last resort option.
Shake the branch, and catch the falling kitten with a blanket.
Things worked out well. Everyone worked together to safely catch the cat, but unfortunately it ran off.
Now the plan is to set up a humane trap in order to feed and hydrate the kitten before turning it into a shelter.
Some in the neighborhood are already lining up to adopt the kitten once it’s able to see a vet and get its shots.
