WATCH: Body cam footage shows officer's save missing man from jumping off bridge

BETHESDA, Md. (WMAR) — Montgomery County Police have released body cam footage of two police officer's heroic actions as they saved a missing man from jumping off a bridge.

It happened Monday around 10:45 p.m. on the Union Arch Bridge at 7934 MacArthur Boulevard in Bethesda.

Police responded to the location for a man who'd gone missing from a group home over an hour earlier.

Officer's Marcella West and Officer Samuel Yun arrived at the Bridge to find that the man had already climbed the safety fence of the bridge and was getting ready to jump off into traffic below.

West was able to grab and hold onto the man, preventing him from jumping while Yun climbed the fence and was able to secure the man from the other side.

With the help of other officers, the man was eventually pulled to safety and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
