Jamaine Cheers was arrested Thursday on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in New Jersey, ending a month's long manhunt.

He's being held in the Atlantic County Jail pending extradition to Maryland.

After two weeks, Maryland State Police are continuing the manhunt for an alleged Caroline County murderer on the run.

James M. Wilmer, 30, was found July 2 suffering from gunshot wounds in the middle of the intersection at High and 4th Streets in Denton. He died a day later at University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

Investigators identified 33-year-old Jamaine V. Cheers as the suspect.

He's currently on the run and wanted on an arrest warrant for first and second-degree murder, assault, and gun crimes.

Detectives still aren't sure of the relationship between Cheers and Wilmer, and are still working to establish a motive.

Anyone who knows Cheers or where he may be should call 911 or Maryland State Police at 443-783-7230.
