BALTIMORE — Transportation security at BWI have now caught 23 guns at the airport's checkpoints. This passes the total caught during all of 2018, with more than three months remaining.
The latest gun was spotted on Friday, September 6 when a Montgomery County woman was found in possession of a .357 caliber revolver loaded with six bullets in her carry-on bag. She told officials that she forgot that she had the gun in her bag.
A TSA officer spotted the gun in the carry-on bag while it was inside the checkpoint X-ray machine.
MTA Police were then notified, confiscated the weapon and detained the woman before arresting her on weapons charges.
