Traffic is backed up on westbound U.S. Highway 50 before the Bay Bridge for about 10 miles.
The Maryland Transportation Authority is encouraging drivers to remain on US 50 to keep local roadways open for first responders and residents.
Officials say the recommended westbound lane cross time is after 11 p.m.
