BALTIMORE — After 70 years, The Milton Inn, in Baltimore County is closing its doors.

In a letter posted on the restaurant's website, Executive Chef and Proprietor Brian Boston said the restaurant business poses great challenges that he conquered daily. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic was one challenge he couldn’t overcome.

He said the restaurant's financial losses are overwhelming and it’s impossible to re-open.

"Our first month we lost 80,000 the second month we lost 50,000 and in total we're over a quarter of a million dollars in the red. I tried to negotiate without landlord tough they offered some little bit of help, moving forward we really need to renegotiate because we've been here since 1997 and the numbers just don’t work, and they are unwilling to renegotiate the lease for us."

Boston plans on taking a couple of weeks off and letting the dust settle and figure out where he can go from here.
