WEST FRIENDSHIP, Md. — A teen is dead after colliding head-on with a Freightliner truck Tuesday evening in Howard County.
It happened just before 9:30 pm.
Police say the truck was northbound on Route 32 making a left turn onto I-70 westbound, when it was struck by an oncoming Land Rover.
Upon impact, the Land Rover ended up underneath the truck.
Laith Basil Aboarob, 17, of Clarksville, died on scene.
The driver of the Freightliner was not injured and remained at the scene.
Police are looking at speed and other factors that may have contributed to the crash.
Route 32 was closed in both directions for approximately four hours.
