Street named in honor of slain BPD detective

BALTIMORE — More than 14-years ago, Baltimore Police Detective Troy Chesley was fatally wounded.

The 2600 block of Garrison Boulevard is now named in his honor and memory.

On that January 2007 day, the 13-year veteran shot back at the suspect who was arrested the next day while seeking treatment.

His mother Joyce, was joined by other family members and co-workers on Friday to unveil the sign.
