LANHAM, Md. — A man who made it on the country's most notorious fugitive lists was arrested on Thursday morning.

According to Prince George's County Police, they received a call about a suspicious person in a rental company truck that was parked outside of a business located on the 7900 block of Annapolis Road.

Police say patrol officers walked up to the truck and spoke to the man inside who they later identified as 43-year-old Lamont Stephenson.

As officers checked their database to see if Stephenson had any open warrants, he told them he was wanted for murder in New Jersey. Stephenson also told police he committed a crime in Washington, D.C. the night before.

Officers also searched Stephenson and found a gun in his possession.

Stephenson was arrested and taken to the Prince George's County Criminal Investigation Division where he is awaiting extradition.
