PASADENA, Md. — Police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection to a carjacking and child abduction at a Pasadena gas station last Friday.
Around 9 p.m. a woman stopped at the Exxon at 8101 Ritchie Highway. She briefly stepped out, leaving the car running with a 2-year-old and 6-month-old child inside.
That's when Anne Arundel County Police say 46-year-old Ronald Matthew Benewicz, got into the car and took off with the children.
Later in the day police found the children unharmed and the car abandoned.

In hopes the public could help identify him, police released surveillance photos of the suspect at the gas station the night of the incident.
On Tuesday police named Benewicz as the suspect, and took him into custody.
