BALTIMORE, md. — On January 30, 2021, just after 1 p.m., officers were called to Compare Foods Supermarket, located in the 5600 block of The Alameda, for an armed person.

Once there, the officers began to canvas the inside of the store when they were alerted by witnesses that the armed suspect was behind them on the opposite side of the market. The officers turned and started walking towards the suspect’s direction when without warning, the suspect began firing at the officers.

Both officers immediately took cover. One officer ran outside of the store while the other began to shoot back at the suspect who was later identified as 34-year-old Dontae Green of the 1100 block of Chester Road.

During the exchange of shooting, a 20 year-old man was shot in the arm. He was taken to an area hospital then released.

Green ran out of the back door and was not caught at that time.

The two officers involved were Police Officer Wesley Rosenberger and Police Officer Daniel Jensen. Officer Rosenberger has been a member of the Baltimore Police Department since May 2019 and Officer Jensen since January 2017.

The investigation is ongoing.
