BALTIMORE — Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Ravens are continuing to serve families in the Baltimore area.

With Thanksgiving coming up, Marlon Humphrey, Mark Ingram, Matthew Judon, Pernell McPhee, Marcus Peters, Jimmy Smith, and Ronnie Stanley teamed up to give out 1,000 turkeys and sides for pre-selected families Tuesday.

Some of the food was handed out at Furley Elementary School and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Family Center YMCA at Stadium Place in Baltimore.

Due to the pandemic, the players couldn't be there.

Employees at Furley Elementary School want residents to know that this isn't a one-time thing.

"This is an area where we have a lot of different families,” said Community Schools Site Specialist for Furley Elementary School Tiara Evans. “This is one school building but there's two schools connected to it. We're just trying to bring the communities together. We're just trying to get people to know that we're here. Let them know that they can come here and receive help."

The school has lawyers on site on certain days. They're also setting up a monthly food bank.
