A racial slur was repeated several times during a virtual orientation for one of Carroll County Public Schools high schools on Wednesday.

According to the school district, they determined that the individual who repeated the slur was not anyone affiliated with the school system. It was not a student or a staff member.

They say someone took a word from a song and played the word several times in a row.

The school district says they are investigating the matter to determine who is responsible.
