Prisoner found dead in jail cell, police looking at fellow inmate as possible suspect

CUMBERLAND, Md. (WMAR) — Maryland State Police are investigating the Sunday death of a prison inmate in Allegany County.

Guards at the Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland found 52-year-old Bradley Rinehart, dead in his cell around 9 p.m.

A fellow inmate has been identified as a potential suspect.

The man's name is currently being withheld as no official charges have been filed.

Police released no information on how Rinehart may have been killed.

An autopsy will determine his exact cause of death.
