GREENBELT, Md. (WMAR) — Police in Greenbelt are warning about a string of recent robberies targeting men on dating apps.
The victims are reportedly lured into what they think is a date with a woman, but when they get to the arranged meeting spot, they're robbed by armed masked suspects.
Police say the suspects usually assault the victim and take their wallet, cell phone, and car keys.
Department officials haven't said what particular dating app(s) the victims were on, but are urging everyone to avoid meeting strangers on them.
