FREDERICK, Md. (WMAR) — Frederick Police believe a man was struck and killed in a hit and run while walking to a bus stop for work.

Officers got the call on December 22 around 8:51 p.m. for an injured person in the unit block of Hillcrest Drive.

When they got there, bystanders were already giving CPR to 58-year-old Richard Shelton.

Unfortunately he later died at an area hospital.

Based off his injuries, detectives think Shelton was hit by a car while walking to catch a bus to go to his job at Walmart.

Anyone who may have seen the crash or knows something is asked to call police at 240-344-6948.
