LAUREL — Howard County police are asking for the public’s help to identify the people and vehicle involved in an assault that occurred in Laurel.

A bystander video obtained by police shows the driver of a newer-model Audi hit the woman, drag her into the car and drive off.

At about 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, police were called to McDonald’s in the 10000 block of Washington Boulevard (Route 1), for a report that a woman had been assaulted by a man in a white 2018-2020 Audi Q3 or Q5, with a paper Maryland temporary tag.

The vehicle sustained damage to the driver's side front quarter panel, headlight assembly and grill.

Through investigation, police believe the man and woman initially had a physical altercation inside the vehicle, which led to the woman getting out of the car.

The video shows the Audi leaving briefly before returning and driving directly at the victim, hittinh her and another vehicle. The driver exits the Audi and drags the woman into the car before fleeing.

Officers have been actively searching the area, including checking local hospitals, but have been unable to locate the vehicle or parties involved.

Police are releasing the video in attempt to identify and/or locate both the suspect and victim, who may be in need of medical assistance.

Anyone with information is asked to immediately contact investigators at 410-313-3700.
