BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police were on scene of a police involved incident on Tuesday
Police say the incident happened at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue at West North Avenue.
At about 11:52 a.m., officers from the Western District Action Team, tasked with proactive enforcement along the Pennsylvania Avenue and West North Avenue corridors, spotted a stolen vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop.
According to police, the suspect refused to stop the stolen vehicle and rammed the passenger side of a marked police patrol car.
During the course of the encounter, an officer fired his weapon at the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect was able to get away from police and fled the area heading in the westbound direction of West North Avenue.
Police say the suspect is traveling in a black Toyota Camry.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Public Integrity Unit’s Special Investigation Response Team (SIRT) and police will be reviewing camera footage related to this incident.
