PASADENA, Md. — A 19-year-old from Pasadena walked up to a security guard with a handgun and asked how to work it.

He's now facing charges.

It was around 7:15 Thursday morning, when Matthew Damon Petree decided to walk up to a guard at the All Care Treatment Center on Crain Highway.

Anne Arundel County Police say Petree had just bought the gun, and wanted to know how to load it.

After the two spoke, Petree reportedly drove away.

Later officers caught up with him. They found an unloaded gun without the firing pin in his backpack.

Although Petree had no ammunition, police still charged him as a minor in illegal possession of a firearm.
