BOWIE, Md. (WMAR) — Prince George's County Police have arrested a man accused of murdering a woman over a car he bought from her son.

Sammie Warren, 23, is charged with shooting 56-year-old Filomena Vasquez inside her Bowie home.

Police say Warren bought a car from Vasquez's live-in son on December 24.

After the sale, Warren was reportedly upset with the condition of the car and wanted a refund.

The son refused, at which point Warren began to threaten his family.

Around 11:30 p.m. on January 1, police say Warren walked up to Vasquez's home on Varnum Street and fired several shots into the home, striking and killing her.

After identifying Warren as the suspect, police went to his house to serve a warrant.

Prior to going inside, officers saw Warren with a gun through the window.

Police say Warren ignored several orders and resisted arrest, forcing officers to tackle him to the ground.

Warren sustained a minor head injury and was treated at a hospital before being taken to jail, where he's being held without bail.
