BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Police are looking for suspect information regarding eight robberies in and around Patterson Park. According to the local neighborhood association the victims are held at gunpoint during the ordeal.

"There are two suspects," said Patterson Park Neighborhood Association member Arch McKown. "One holds a handgun to someone’s head and then the other one goes through their pockets and then they run and they take a wallet and or cell phone."

According to information provided to the association by police, since January 4th there are eight open cases. The latest occurring on the 13th.

"This is a string of robberies," said McKown. "They all happen around the same time, between 7 and 8 p.m."

While violent crime in the southeastern district is down, community members don't want to downplay the recent events.

"No one should feel threatened," said McKown. "But this is a very serious issue."

"Everyone should be able to walk and do your business without having to worry about anything," said Graham Paul.

In light of the crimes the area is reminding people to be alert and if possible, avoid the park after it closes.

"I tend to just stick to the perimeter of the park where it’s well lit," said Paul.

"If you have to walk through the park, don't go alone and keep your eyes up," said McKown. "Don't have your earbuds in and down be staring down at your phone."

Suspect description was not immediately available but anyone with information is asked to call Baltimore City Police.
