SILVER SPRING, Md. (WMAR) — The Montgomery County Police Department's Cold Case Unit is investigating a suspicious situation discovered in a Silver Spring park last summer.

Workers at Nolte Local Park called detectives after finding a small section in the park that looked to have recently been dug up and re-covered with dirt.

Investigators assigned to the case found various items including 1990s styled clothing. Detectives think the items were buried for several years, but for some unknown reason the hole they were buried in looks to have been recently disturbed.

On Wednesday police released a video showing the items recovered, in hopes of finding out who they belong to and how they got there.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity or has any information should call detectives at 240-773-5081.
