COLUMBIA, Md. — Police are investigating nearly 20 recent overnight thefts from cars in the Columbia area.

Most of the incidents happened between January 19 and 20 in neighborhoods off Route 108.

They include Jericho Road, Ridermark Row, Silver Tree Place, Gaither Hunt Lane, Hesperus Drive, Castle Moor Drive, Columbia Road, River Rock Way, and Green Mill Way.

Howard County Police released surveillance video of one incident that shows the suspect breaking out car windows.

Investigators hope it leads to tips that help identify the suspect.

In other cases, owners left their car doors unlocked to find multiple items stolen.
