BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Police continue to stress the importance of heightened awareness for drivers at night, especially when entering or exiting their vehicles. This comes as detectives investigate two armed carjackings.
The first occurred in the 1800 block of Bolton Street around 8 p.m. Witnesses say three men armed with a weapon approached the driver of a 2019 silver Mazda CX-5. The vehicle was taken and police were notified shortly after.
According to police there was a second armed carjacking around 11 p.m. Monday near E. Read and Central in Mount Vernon.
WMAR-2 News was able to track down the victim and a friend. They didn't want to go on camera but said two men stole a 1992 sky-blue Cadillac. It occurred outside the driver's apartment. The suspects also made off with the driver's wallet and two sets of keys.
The Caddy was found by police after the suspects reportedly crashed the vehicle.
Right now there are no reports of any arrests.
