OCEAN CITY, Md. — Ocean City Police have arrested and charged a man they say was involved in a double stabbing that happened on Sunday on Caroline Street and the Boardwalk.
Police say the town's City Watch program and public's help led detectives to identify 19-year-old Harold Rafael Nunez-Dominguez as a suspect in the reported stabbing of two teenagers.
The assault happened during a fight with multiple people. Police reported that a 15-year-old and 17-year-old boy were seriously injured and taken to area hospitals where they are in stable condition.
“We would not have the photographs, video evidence and the ability to quickly identify the suspect without our City Watch program,” commented Ocean City Police Chief Ross Buzzuro. “The investment in the town’s surveillance technology is a key factor in solving this case.”
In addition to the help from City Watch, police received tips from citizens and assistance from a hotel employee who identified Nunez-Dominguez as a hotel guest.
Nunez-Dominguez’s has been charged with two counts of assault in the first and second-degree, as well as two counts of reckless endangerment. He is in police custody in Pennsylvania and is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
