UPDATE: The Independent Investigations Division is investigating the crash between a Baltimore Police Officer and a scooter driver.

Baltimore Police Officer Alexis Acosta crashed into a scooter driver around 12:40 p.m. on June 21. The driver of the scooter, 58-year-old Terry Harrell, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Harrell died from his injuries on June 23, and Acosta was not charged.

Acosta is a 1.5 year veteran assigned to the Operations Bureau.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The driver of a scooter died two days after crashing into a patrol car in East Baltimore.

The wreck happened around 12:30 p.m. on June 21 at the intersection of E. Biddle Street and N. Milton Avenue.

The 58-year-old scooter driver was taken to an area hospital by ambulance where he died a couple days later.

The Baltimore Police Department‘s C.R.A.S.H. Team is investigating the collision.
