Overnight barn fire in Queen Anne's Co. causes $1 million in damage

CENTREVILLE, Md. — An overnight fire in Queen Anne's County caused an estimated $1 million in damage Thursday.

A neighbor discovered the flames just after 2:30 a.m. inside a 50 x 150 barn owned by JCK Farms, in the 300 block of Clannihan Shop Road in Centreville.

It took nearly 50 firefighters three hours to contain the blaze.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Several vehicle parts and heavy farm equipment were among the property lost in the fire.

The cause is still under investigation. Anyone with information should call the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office at 410-822-7609.
