OCEAN CITY, Md. — The Mug and Mallet seafood restaurant on Ocean City's boardwalk closed Monday due to excessive heat.

On their Facebook page the restaurant said having to wear a mask made serving and cooking unbearable and unsafe for employees.

With state health guidelines in place, the restaurant said there wasn't enough room to seat customers inside comfortably.

Last Tuesday, the restaurant closed its doors to give their staff a day of rest.

In June, the restaurant said they've experienced their longest wait times history. They had to go down from 25 tables to eight, just to be in compliance with of social distancing rules and regulations.

The restaurant plans to try and reopen again Tuesday.
