CARROLL COUNTY — Local dairy farmers will be giving Maola brand milk to those in need this Saturday, May 30th at 10 a.m. at the New Windsor Fire Department Carnival Grounds. Two gallons of Maola milk will be given to each vehicle while supplies last.
The donation event is made possible thanks to a collaborative effort between Cow Comfort Inn Dairy, Hoober Inc., Land O’Lakes Foundation, and Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative.
“Farmers have always worked together, in good times and bad,” said David Pyle, owner of Cow Comfort Inn Dairy, an 800-head Jersey operation in Union Bridge, Maryland. “This is why we farm. We farm to feed families.”
“I’m glad to work with fellow farmers, cooperatives and community organizations to make this event happen and to help those in need get the food and nutrition they need,” said Matt Hoff, a local dairy farmer and President of Maryland & Virginia Milk Producer Cooperative. “Coming together to help our neighbors in a time of need is what we [the dairy industry] do best.”
