Maryland extends special enrollment period for Health Benefit Exchange

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland is extending the special enrollment period for its Health Benefit Exchange.

Individuals can now enroll through August 15.

Coverage dates will vary based on when someone enrolls.

    Enroll now–April 15, coverage starts April 1
    Enroll April 16–May 15, coverage starts May 1

    Enroll May 16-June 15, coverage starts June 1

    Enroll June 16-July 15, coverage starts July 1

    Enroll July 16-Aug. 15, coverage starts Aug. 1

    Health coverage through Maryland Health Connection including private health plans and Medicaid, covers costs for COVID-19 testing.

    Since the pandemic began, more than 140,000 Maryland residents have enrolled, most of whom have received free or low-cost coverage.
