CATONSVILLE, Md. — About 800 Maryland National Guard members have returned home following their detail to the U.S. Capitol.

They joined 26,000 other National Guard members from throughout the nation.

Together they helped secure Washington D.C. during the recent Capitol Hill riots and Presidential Inauguration.

The guard will now focus on the state's COVID-19 response and vaccination efforts.
