Man shot and killed in Columbia; Howard County Police increase reward to up to $10,000

COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County Police have doubled the reward to up to $10,000 for information in October 4 Columbia homicide.

At 2:37 p.m., officers were called to the 9600 block of Basket Ring Road for a report that a subject had been shot outside a residence. 23-year-old Juan Michael Ross, of Jessup, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are still looking into the possibility the incident may have been drug-related, and whether the involved parties were familiar with one another.
