A man from Frederick was sentenced to over eight years in prison after committing two armed robberies in March.

Sean Shorb, 38, was officially given 100 months with three years of supervised release. According to his plea agreement, Shorb robbed a fast food restaurant and a convenience store in the same week.

The first robbery was on March 19 on Thomas Johnson Drive. He pointed a gun at an employee and said he would shoot them unless he handed over the money, the employee complied and Shorb ran away. The other robbery was on March 23 at a store on Amber Drive. He also pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

Police were able to identify Shorb by using red light camera footage that showed his car fleeing from one of the robberies.
