Man leaving for work shot in own driveway, another wounded in hit and run

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Police are investigating a pair of shootings across Anne Arundel County over the last few days.

The latest happened Monday just after 6 in the morning on Orchard Road in Riva.

Police say the victim was trying to leave his home for work, but couldn't because a car was blocking his driveway.

After asking them to move, someone got out of the vehicle and shot the victim.

The suspect fled in what's described as a maroon sedan.

It's believed the victim's injuries are non-life threatening.

Southern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 410-222-1960.

Then Saturday night, there was a crash near Shelly Road and Harris Heights in Glen Burnie.

The victim reportedly tried stopping the suspect from leaving the accident scene, when he was shot.

Police say the gunman took off in a light colored sedan. He's described as having a large build with dreadlocks, last seen wearing a blue and white shirt.

The victim is expected to survive.
