A 64-year-old man was killed in a crash in Adamstown on Monday at around noon.

According to Frederick County Sheriff’s Office preliminary investigation indicates the driver and two passengers of the Ecology Service Recycle Disposal Company were working their route and traveling westbound on Ira Sears Road.

When going around a curve where there was ice and snow on the roadway, the truck slid off the road and overturned. The driver and passenger suffered minor injuries, but Mark Steven Williams, who was riding on the back of the truck at the time of the incident was pinned under the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since the start of the snow storm, FCSO deputies responded to more than 340 calls for service, including more than 20 property damage and personnel injury accidents and nearly 20 assists to other police departments and the DRFS.
