PARKVILLE, Md. — A man injured while working with a tree removal company in Parkville remains in critical condition after becoming entangled in a rope on Thursday.
Preliminary reports said that the man had fallen from a tree into or onto a wood chipper and suffered a life-threatening injury. Officials say that subsequent information shows that the patient was critically injured when he became entangled in a rope that had pulled taut.
The man was on the ground when the incident occurred and the rope became caught in the chipper, pulling him against the chipper. The man was not injured by the blade of the chipper but the tightness of the rope.

The patient was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to Shock Trauma, where he remains in critical condition.
