HOWARD COUNTY — A 61-year-old man died from injuries sustained in an accident in October.

Richard Cager, of Severn, died at the hospital as a result of his injuries on Nov. 7.

On October 29, a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Cager was traveling westbound on Little Patuxent Parkway approaching Cedar Lane when it was hit by a 2019 Chrysler 300 traveling northbound on Cedar Lane through the intersection.

Debris from the collision also hit a nearby bicyclist.

According to police, the driver of the Chrysler and the bicyclist were not injured.

Cager was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition.

Through preliminary investigation, police believe Cager was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes through a red light when he was hit.

The intersection was closed for approximately three hours overnight. The investigation is ongoing.
