COLLEGE PARK, Md. — A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged for exposing himself on the University of Maryland campus.
On Thursday, at approximately 2:39 p.m., University of Maryland Police Department were called to the Brendan Iribe Center for an Indecent Exposure. A female student told police that at approximately 2:20 p.m., a man exposed himself.
Their Security Operations Center began an emergency review of the cameras in the area. The suspect was captured on video, leaving the building and then entering a non-UMD bus. That bus was last seen traveling north on Baltimore Avenue.
During the course of the investigation, a detective identified the suspect. Information about the suspect, who was identified as Stanley William Holmes III, was provided to neighboring police agencies.
At approximately 5:35 p.m., Holmes was located in the 4700 block of Cherry Hill by a neighboring police agency. The detective responded to the location and verified it was the same person.
Holmes was arrested and charged with CR 11-107 Indecent Exposure and CR 6-403 Trespass on Private Property. He has no affiliation with UMD, so he also was issued a denial to all of campus.
The suspect in the indecent exposure case was not arrested on scene. The detective obtained a criminal summons for the suspect.
