BALTIMORE — The M&T Bank Stadium mass vaccination site will open on Thursday and it only took a couple of hours to fill the available appointment slots. This shows that, while the demand for a COVID-19 vaccine is still high, the supply remains low.

For the last two and a half weeks, the University of Maryland Medical System has been converting the club level at the stadium to a vaccination clinic.

In addition to the Baltimore Convention Center and Six Flags in Prince George’s County, this will be Maryland's third mass vaccination site and, right now, this site will only be able to give out between 250 and 500 doses a day.

The hope is to increase that to 2,000 by early march and, once more supply is available, up to 10,000 a day.

A fourth mass vaccination site is scheduled to be up and running by mid-march in Southern Maryland. It'll be at the Regency Furniture Stadium in Charles County.
