ROSEDALE, Md. — A 21-year-old man has died days after being stabbed outside his Rosedale home.
Around 4:30 pm on January 3, police say Cody Mulligan, who is legally blind, was leaving his home in the 1000 block of Sumter Avenue, when he was accosted by a man armed with a knife.
Without provocation, 47-year-old James John Marchsteiner, III, charged Mulligan and stabbed him multiple times.
Marchsteiner was still on scene when police arrived and was taken into custody.
Police say Marchsteiner lives in the same neighborhood, but couldn't say if he and Mulligan had any prior connection.
He now faces charges of murder and is being held without bail.
