Woman arrested in Cold Stone Creamery assault of employee in Edgewater, man still wanted

EDGEWATER, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police have identified the two customers involved in an assault on a Cold Stone Creamery employee on Nov. 7.

Through investigation, detectives were able to identify both suspects involved in this incident.

On Nov. 13, 26-year-old Ibukunoluwa Opanuga was arrested and charged for her involvement in the assault.

Detectives have an arrest warrant for the second suspect, Musaab Abdul Ali, 35, of Washington, DC.

Anne Arundel County police said the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. at the ice cream location off of Solomons Island Road.

Initial reports said a man and woman entered the business without facemasks and were asked to put them on.

The suspects weren't cooperative and argued with employees, ultimately leading to one of the suspects physically assaulting a female employee.

"It's my understanding they had their face mask but were asked to put them on properly," said Sgt. Cooke with Anne Arundel County Police. "When we find the people involved, we will file charges accordingly.

As for the employee assaulted, she was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
