I-70 eastbound closed in Frederick due to pedestrian being struck

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — Maryland State Police closed down all lanes of I-70 earlier on Thursday due to a pedestrian being struck.

According to officials, they responded to the scene at around 6:42 p.m.

Upon Troopers arrival on scene all lanes of I-70 eastbound were closed for an investigation. CHART is currently diverting traffic onto US-40 (exit 48). State Police and CHART are currently working to have at least one lane of I-70 eastbound open as soon as possible.

The struck pedestrian was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment.
