Howard County teachers protest reopening plan with caravan

Howard County teachers want to be heard before heading back to classrooms.

They held a car caravan and rally to send a message that more needs to be done to reopen buildings safely.

They say they also wanted to be vaccinated before returning next week.

"And now they are trusting us to believe they have the proper safety equipment and schools will be ready to uphold safety protocols. They say they are giving us one pair of gloves in our PPE packet. What is one pair of gloves going to do?"

The caravan gathered in the Howard High School parking lot and then went to the Howard County Board of Education.

Teachers are expected to return to the classrooms next Wednesday.
