BALTIMORE — COVID-19 will cause a few changes this Ash Wednesday.

According to the Archdiocese of Baltimore, there are only two ways ashes will be placed on someone's forehead.

One is by sprinkling a small amount.

The second is to apply the ashes with a cotton swab or Q-tip.

In this case, a new one will be used for each person.

Also, ashes won't be packaged and sent home for self-application.

All churches offering services will still abide by capacity limits, social distancing, and require masks to be worn.
